know it, but have a hard time doing it?

It's funny how easily we scroll past Reels or delete newsletters because there's so many other things on our to do list.

Now that I'm on the other side, starting to post on Instagram, developing a brand new program, and keeping up with this newsletter, I vastly underestimated how long each of these tasks take.

There's the creative aspect: coming up with the ideas, getting the ideas organized, working with people and seeing the results. All of that is the fun part that I very much enjoy.

Then there's the less fun parts: setting up the landing page, Zoom accounts, email sequencing, making videos, learning how to edit, posting Reels vs Posts, this list goes on and on...

I laugh as I type this because a part of me envisioned having an online business as less work. And easy work.

That's the funny thing about "easy." We often mistake it for simple. They are NOT the same.

It's a simple process to record and post. Contemplating whether or not a post will actually serve others and overcoming the fears of "is this good enough" and "will anyone even care" is not so easy.

It's simple to "trust your gut" when you're living in alignment with your values and life is going according to plan.

But what about when shit hits the fan? Like when I thought I was ready for motherhood because I'd been actively doing the inner work for a decade, only to get pregnant a month before the global COVID nightmare and then have to move not once, twice, but THREE times before finally settling into our first home (a fixer upper). I was NOT ready for ANY of that!

Life stress tested me, and I failed. Miserably.

When we finally moved out of my mom's house and I began unpacking my essential oils and mini apothecary, I felt joy returning to my body.

This one cabinet represented so much of the simple pleasures that made my daily life "mine." Being forced to live on someone else's terms with someone else's tools was so disorienting... is this what corporate jobs feel like? Ugh!

Coming home to myself was paired with a literal coming home, and life began getting easier. Nothing was getting simpler, but at least I was operating under my own terms, with access to my homemade medicines, and my own yard to begin playing in the dirt again - making soil and planting more medicines!

Like Celine Dion, it was all coming back to me...

And I'm so grateful to have gone through all of that, because had I not forgotten, I would not be able to remember.

You see, after so many years of practice, we sometimes forget how hard the first steps can be, or what those first steps even are.

Mom brain + pandemic + multiple moves + the usual overwhelm of conflicting parenting advice + sleep deprivation = going back to the basics. At first I fell for the traps of consumerism. I bought "grounding earrings", fancy face cleaning products, and random things I thought would "do the trick." None of it helped...

Slowly, while out and about, I realized how shallow my breathing was. I began to notice how many hours I was spending researching, instead of taking 5 minutes to slow down and look inwards for the answers I needed.

These are the building blocks of finding your way in a sea of confusion. Breath and body awareness. Action without them often leads to misalignment. Which leads to feeling frustrated, disappointed, or lost.

If you've felt lost or disconnected from yourself too, then come join me tomorrow morning at 11am for the Trust Yo'Self workshop. When you sign up you'll get a copy of my Total Body Relaxation guided meditation, and the Zoom link. Hopefully I'll figure out how to record and send the replay, but no promises.

During the one hour workshop, we'll cover the 8 senses, how to breathe properly, and the main intuition skill I use every day: understanding what a "yes" and "no" feels like in our body. I call this Somatic Wisdom.

Because Intuition is not just some woo woo concept beyond reach. It's a palpable, tangible skill you can enhance with just a little bit of awareness and practice. Just like a voice coach can help you improve how you use your vocal muscles, an intuition coach can help you better understand your interoceptive sense (hint: it's one of the 8 senses) to discern what those bodily sensations mean.

If that sounds like a skill you want to learn, join me tomorrow. Or at least sign up so when I figure out how to send the replay, you'll get it.

For those curious about the rest of Inner Wisdom Way 2.0, the Trust Yo'Self workshop is the first lesson. The program has been shortened to 4 weeks, so we finish just before the school year ends.

Week 1 is all building your awareness, and weeks 2-4 are all about action. If you've ever felt like you do know what you need to do, but you get stuck and don't act on that intuitive wisdom, in Inner Wisdom Way 2.0 we'll clear the traumas that have kept you stuck in those patterns of procrastination, people-pleasing, and regretting the actions you didn't take.

It's liberating, empowering, and grounding. You'll no longer struggle with self-doubt, because you'll know what is right FOR YOU! Decisions made on your terms, from your gut, that you clearly understand, and have the courage to act on.

Let's move this knowledge from "in theory" to "ah, I get it" together.

Love & Light,

Pri

Feeling like this doesn't resonate at all, no worries. You do you boo, and we'll cross paths again when the time is right :-)

While Miami's heat can be unbearable at times, I love this time of year for one particular reason: tropical fruit season!!! Of course, mangoes, lychees, and watermelon are deliciously sweet and juicy, but beyond that, nature provides us with exactly what we need for each season. Isn't it amazing how during the hottest times of the year when we need the most hydration, nature provides us with fruits that are almost bursting with water? This is one of the simplest ways to move towards living a...

you are your own best healer

The idea that the capacity to heal lies with others is perhaps the most dangerous misconception perpetuated by the mainstream medical industry. So why has every civilization had some kind of healer / shaman / medicine (wo)man? Because a healers job is to help remove any obstructions that are preventing your body from healing itself. That's it. Our bodies are infinitely wise, and capable of restoring balance. This is why sleep is THE BEST medicine. Laughter comes in at a close second. Even in...

Discipline and consistency have been two themes in my life I've struggled with quite a bit. Even on this journey developing my online business, I expect myself to stick to a schedule, and have a really hard time being kind to myself when I inevitably don't stick to it 100%. Posting on social media daily... Sending this newsletter every Wednesday (before midnight)... Showing up to my laptop to work everyday my son is at school... I have failed at doing all of those things 100% of the time....
